Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Philadelphia is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I drove almost 3000 miles last month for work. I go all throughout New England, New York and New Jersey. I typically try to find pho for dinner because it is healthier than fast food when I’m on the road. Let me tell you, Pho Duyên is the best Vietnamese restaurant I’ve been to in a long time. The authenticity is off the charts. At other places, you get wilting produce, brown mung beans and sad jalapeños. Here, the produce was fresh, the ingredients authentic, and they served a Birds Eye chili instead of jalapeños. The hot chili oil was insanely good. In addition to pho, I got the #8 special rice. It had an interesting accoutrement I had never had before… Tàu Hũ Ky, or meat paste in tofu skin, pan fried. It sounds weird, for sure, but it was AMAZING. I would have gotten an appetizer just of that if it was an option. The glaze and sear on the pork chop were perfect. The pho broth was clear and flavorful. I highly recommend Pho Duyên. I don’t live anywhere close, but I will definitely be back!

Bun Bo hue was exceptional and mi Bo kho was incredible. We also got the fried chicken and egg rolls, both of which were great.

I recently visited this Vietnamese restaurant and had a mixed experience. The crispy chicken dish, which seems to be one of their popular items, was a bit overhyped for me. While it was definitely crispy, it didn’t have much flavor and felt like it was missing seasoning or sauce to bring it to life. On the other hand, the Bún Riêu was outstanding. The broth was rich, comforting, and full of authentic flavor — easily the highlight of the meal. I would come back just for that soup alone. Overall, there are some hits and misses, but the dishes that shine really do make an impression

Okay I get it now. This place was worth the hype. We visited this restaurant a few years ago and wasn’t wow by it so I was hesitant to return. It looks like the menu and flavor got a whole revamped and it’s very good now. I got the banh uot and fried chicken rice and could not believe how good it was. I was thoroughly impressed. I find that it’s easy to find decent food but it’s very difficult to find truly great food so I’m very glad I rediscovered this place. Highly recommend trying and we will be back for sure. P.s the water they served is actually iced pandan tea and it’s fabulous.

This is my 2nd visit. After watching multiple videos on instagram about this place I decided to give it a try. My first visit I order the house fried chicken with fried rice and a side of soup. It was so good. So I decided to stop by to dine in this time. I order the same thing as my to-go order from the first time and it still just as good if not better since I was eating it fresh there when it’s nice and hot still. The chicken was so moist and juicy while the skin was extra crispy. We also got the spring rolls. It was delicious. The restaurant was small with about 5 tables and one high top table. We waited about 10-15 min for a table. While we were waiting the server brought over to us the menu and ask if we would like to put in our order while we wait which I really appreciate because I was starving and shortly after we sat down our food came right away. Our server was friendly and attentive. I highly recommend the house fried chicken at least one person per table was getting that dish that’s a good sign that the dish is good. If you want some authentic Vietnamese food definitely come give this place a try you will not be disappointed.
